HOA 3 Judge/Volunteer Meeting October 2nd

Greetings Judges and Volunteers for the 2011 Heart of America CrossFit Affiliate Competition!!!

First things first, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your willingness to contribute your time and energy at H.O.A 3 this November 4th-6th. The competition is fast approaching (It'll be here in just 6 weeks)! In an effort to be as prepared as possible on gameday, I'd like to invite you to attend an HOA Judge & Volunteer meeting at 3PM Sunday, October 2nd at CrossFit Springfield. At the meeting we'll designate each volunteer with a job or task for the event, discuss HOA logistics and layout, and answer any questions. For our judges, the plan for the evening is to brief you on all of the movement standards with 2011 HOA lead judge, Corey Lewis of CrossFit Valley Park. Corey was the head judge at 2010 HOA and will be making the trip to Springfield from St. Louis for the judging clinic.

Most of our volunteers are from CFS so travel won't be an issue. If you're from out of town or simply have another obligation on the evening of the 3rd and won't be able to make the meeting, we'll be sure to assign a sweet responsibility to you (something like "official HOA puke cleaner-upper") in your absence :) There are tons of tasks that will need to be done from now until Friday, November 4th! If you'll be able to attend please RSVP as soon as possible to melissawistrom@hotmail.com.

If you haven’t yet registered to judge or volunteer at HOA 3 and still would like to, please get signed up HERE. Thanks again for your help this year and we'll look forward to seeing everyone on Oct 2nd at 3pm!

Cheers,

Jeremy Mhire, Co-Owner CFS

Judges & Volunteers Make It Happen

The 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games were the 5th installment of the worldwide search to find the fittest athletes on the planet. Because of the size and magnitude the event has become, more individuals from the CrossFit community than ever before were called upon to volunteer their time, energy, talents, and efforts in order to pull off such a well run competition. The 2011 Heart Of America CrossFit Affiliate Team Competition is still in need of individuals with the same desire to assist in making our event live up to the high standards set forth by the competitive CrossFit Community. If you are not competing at HOA III, please consider participating in the action by signing up to judge or volunteer at the event from November 4th-6th. Welcome To H.O.A 2011!!!

This year will be the 3rd installment of the HOA affiliate team competition which has grown in it's size and scope: HOA 2009 had 15 teams participating in Springfield, MO at CrossFit Springfield. CrossFit Valley Park won the meet, taking home 1st place honors at the inaugural event. HOA 2010 had double the team participation with over 30 teams battling it out in St. Louis, MO at CrossFit Ice. Quad City CrossFit took home the championship for HOA 2010 and will seek to defend their title this November 4th,5th, and 6th as the event returns to Springfield, MO at CrossFit Springfield.

HOA 2011 promises to be even bigger and better than years past! First off, teams will be able to participate as scaled or RX. Because of growth of this event, this year we will be expanding the total number of participating teams to 50. The registration cap for RX teams will be held to around 30 and the cap for scaled teams will be kept to 20.

As an added incentive to perform well, there will be cash prizes and equipment giveaways for this year's top finishing teams!
